Project description
What we want in detail. The HR office, the payroll room and one meeting room should be fully matte from floor to ceiling, so that nobody can read a screen or a whiteboard from outside. Everything else gets bands, not full coverage — the whole point of the glass was daylight and we do not want to lose it. Two horizontal bands per panel: the lower one centred around 1100–1200 mm so it sits at the eye level of a person sitting at a desk, the upper one around 1600 mm for someone walking past. Band width 200 mm, running the full width of each panel and continuing across the door leaves so the line does not break at the joints. We would prefer a plain even frost, but please quote a fine dotted gradient as an alternative and bring samples of both — our design lead wants to see them on the real glass before we commit. This is film work, not sandblasting: the glass is new and must stay intact.
Installation matters as much as the material. The glass still has construction dust and adhesive marks on it, so it needs a proper wash and a blade pass before anything is applied. We expect wet application with a slip solution, the squeegee worked from the centre outwards, every bubble chased to the edge, and trimming along the frame with a small even gap rather than film curling onto the aluminium. Work has to happen on a weekend — Saturday from ten in the morning is fine, the floor will be empty — because a wet floor and damp glass are not compatible with people at desks. One more condition: about three years are left on our lease, so the film must come off cleanly when we move out, without leaving glue the landlord will bill us for.
Please include in your offer:
— a price per square metre for the full matte areas and separately for the banding;
— the specification of the film you propose: thickness, scratch resistance, expected indoor lifetime;
— how you handle the two glass doors and the panels with sealed vertical joints;
— crew size and how many hours you need for 86 square metres;
— what your warranty covers if edges lift or bubbles appear later;
— confirmation that you can start within the next two weeks.
