Project description
We run a weekly conversation podcast and are looking for a dependable audio editor to take over post-production on a continuing basis. Each week we hand over the raw multi-track recording of a roughly hour-long episode, usually captured remotely with two or three speakers, and we need it turned into a clean, broadcast-ready file. The work is not a one-time gig: episodes drop on a fixed schedule, so we need someone who can commit to a steady turnaround and keep the sound of the show consistent from week to week.
The core of the job is careful cleanup and finishing. That means removing background noise, hum and room echo, balancing the levels between speakers so nobody is too loud or too quiet, and mastering the final mix to the loudness standards that podcast platforms expect. On top of that we want the conversation tightened: cutting out long pauses, filler words, false starts, coughs and obvious mistakes so the episode flows naturally without feeling over-edited. You will also drop in our supplied intro and outro music, add an occasional mid-roll marker, and set clean chapter markers so listeners can jump between segments.
Finally, each finished episode should be exported and delivered in the formats and specifications our hosting requires, with correct metadata and chapters embedded. Please share examples of podcast work you have edited and let us know your typical turnaround time per episode.
— Noise, hum and echo removal plus per-speaker level balancing
— Mastering to platform loudness standards
— Removing filler words, long pauses and mistakes
— Adding supplied intro/outro and chapter markers
— Exporting with correct metadata for podcast platforms
