About the service

I engage in mobile aerial photography and mapping of construction sites, land plots, and quarries — not for the sake of beautiful photos, but for accurate engineering data that can be relied upon in work. The main task I solve is to turn a flyover of an object into finished working material — an orthophotoplan with coordinate reference, a digital surface model, contour lines, and volume calculations for soil stockpiles, earthwork, and excavation progress.

Equipment and approach to shooting: depending on the size of the site, I use either a multirotor drone — for compact urban plots and detailed close-range shooting, or a fixed-wing type — for large areas where coverage speed is important. Each flight is planned taking into account RTK or PPK positioning and ground control points, if geodetic-level accuracy is required, so the final data withstands verification with a total station or GPS receiver with deviations within a few centimeters in horizontal and vertical directions. When planning the route, I take into account the overlap percentage of images, ground resolution, and lighting to avoid shadows and overexposures that degrade photogrammetry quality.

Processing and results: I process the original images in professional photogrammetry software and obtain orthophotos, point clouds, DSM and DTM models, as well as volume reports in formats convenient for engineers and project managers — GeoTIFF, LAS/LAZ, DXF, PDF reports, and KMZ for quick viewing in Google Earth. For monitoring construction progress, I arrange repeat flyovers along the same route every one to two weeks to obtain comparable data on volumes and surface changes throughout the entire project, not just a one-time image.

Typical tasks I work with: verification of earthwork volumes for contractor work completion certificates, inventory of stockpiles and bulk material storage, topographic survey before construction begins, verification of as-built survey against the design model, slope and drainage checks, photo documentation of site conditions. The execution time usually ranges from several working days from the flyover to finished materials — it depends on the area of the object and the set of requested data. I always start with a short call to understand what decisions should be based on this data, then coordinate flight permissions, airspace restrictions, and access conditions to the site. If you need continuous monitoring for the entire construction period, I will set up a regular flight schedule and maintain an archive of all data so you always have a verified history of the object's condition.
