About the service
I provide mobile repair services for slide-out mechanisms (slide-outs) in RVs and campers — when a section won't extend, won't retract, moves in jerks, squeaks, or gets stuck halfway. I come directly to you — at a parking lot, campground, or storage facility — with all necessary equipment, so you don't have to tow the camper with a faulty slide-out to a workshop. In most cases the cause is one of a few: a worn or slipping motor, damaged gear rack, frayed or misaligned cable, faulty control unit, or dried-out guide that binds under load. I have diagnostic equipment and common spare parts with me, so most problems can be found and fixed in one visit.
On-site I perform complete mechanical and electrical system inspection: measure motor current consumption and check its mounting, assess gear and rack condition, cable tension and routing for cable-driven systems, condition of rack-pinion or hydraulic drive — depending on your system type, limit switches and control circuit. I lubricate guides and gears, adjust cable tension, realign a misaligned section, and replace worn seals around the slide-out opening perimeter to eliminate leaks and drafts. If the motor or gearbox has failed completely, I remove it and install a compatible unit, then before finishing I always verify the full extension and retraction cycle under load.
What's included:
— Complete diagnostics of motor, gearbox, cables and control electronics
— Lubrication, cable tension adjustment and misalignment correction
— Motor, gearbox or cable replacement if necessary
— Seal replacement around the slide-out opening perimeter
— Full cycle verification before completion
