About the service
I am a private jeweler and visit clients at home or in the office with all necessary equipment so you don't have to take a family heirloom to an unfamiliar workshop. Over the years I have assembled a compact portable set — a torch, ring mandrels, polishing attachments and a loupe, and almost everything that is done on a stationary workbench I demonstrate right before your eyes, at your kitchen table or in the hallway.
Most often I'm called when a ring no longer fits or, conversely, has become too large, when a clasp on a chain or bracelet has come undone, or when a stone in a setting has started to loosen. I enlarge and reduce ring sizes, resolder broken clasps and rings, tighten prongs and reset loose stones. I always examine the entire piece first and honestly tell you what can be fixed on the spot and what will require a full workshop — making promises about everything and then disappointing the client is against my rules.
Upon ordering — one visit, price is agreed upon in advance, and the jewelry never leaves your sight for a moment. I bring my own lighting, a protective mat and cleaning supplies, and after each repair I always clean and polish the item, so it returns to you in better condition than it was before my visit.
— Ring enlargement and reduction, any metal
— Repair of clasps and rings on chains and bracelets
— Tightening and resetting of loose stones
— Inspection and repair of prongs and settings
