Service description
I build embedded Linux systems for connected hardware, and I take a device from a bare board to reliable, field-ready firmware. My work covers the whole stack that sits between silicon and your application: I create Yocto and Buildroot images, bring up new boards, write and port device drivers, and do the kernel and device-tree work that makes custom peripherals actually behave. When a gateway needs a clean update mechanism, secure boot, or a read-only rootfs that survives power cuts, that is the kind of foundation I put in place before anyone writes a single line of product code.
In practice most projects reach me in one of two states. Either you have a new board and nothing boots yet, or you have a vendor BSP that works on the demo kit but falls apart the moment your hardware differs. I handle both. For bring-up I sort out the bootloader, clocks, pin muxing and the device tree, then get the kernel booting cleanly and the buses talking to your sensors, radios and storage. For an existing BSP I untangle the vendor layers, pin down reproducible builds, and turn a fragile one-off image into something your team can rebuild and ship on demand. Throughout, I keep the build honest with proper version control, documented recipes and a layer structure that a colleague can pick up later.
On top of the platform I assemble the application layer: init and service management, networking and connectivity, over-the-air updates, logging and watchdog behaviour so a device in the field recovers on its own instead of needing a truck roll. I care about the boring reliability details because those are what decide whether a fleet runs quietly for years or generates support tickets every week. You get documentation, a reproducible build, and firmware I am comfortable putting my name to.
