\nWhat is the secret to achieving success in any endeavor? Why do some people thrive while others cannot achieve what they want? The answer to all this is leadership. «One of the main guiding principles and values of the company is leadership. When professionals work in a company, the work is structured correctly, there are tangible changes in achieving goals and solving the tasks at hand. So who is a leader? You do not have to be a top-level executive; every employee with leadership potential can do a great deal for the company as a whole. These people can rally a team around them, and you do not even notice how you start striving for the best, for the optimal solution to the tasks at hand, for the simplest solutions. When such a person works with you, you may not strive to learn from them, but the way they work will leave an indelible mark on the team’s work.

\nA leader does not choose themselves; they are chosen by those around them, judging by their deeds and actions. They are trusted, because they work not only on themselves—they develop and help those they work with, motivating this by the need to distribute responsibilities. A leader is visible from afar; they can not only set a task but also find optimal solutions in the shortest possible time. They quickly adapt to changes at work and are able to process information with an effective solution. In this way the following guiding principles of our Company are also achieved: effectiveness, integrity and safety. They are always glad about their colleagues’ achievements and contribute to career growth, because it is important for them to work among professionals. It is thanks to such people that our company thrives and develops». The problem of leadership is one of the central ones in philosophy and is closely connected with the role of personality in history. The ancient Greek philosopher Plato argued that people are born different by nature, and the highest justice lies in everyone doing the work for which they have a natural inclination. In his understanding, leaders are heroes, defenders, rulers and sages. Leadership requires a person to sacrifice their momentary interests.

\nPlato’s student Aristotle explains leadership by the presence of special qualities: intelligence, the ability to make decisions and foresee, benevolence, courage, incorruptibility, humanity, justice, prudence, and experience in governance. At the root of leadership lies the art of persuasion. According to Aristotle, an orator or leader has three main means at their disposal: the ability to speak and argue, the ability to influence listeners emotionally, and the character they
\ndemonstrate.

\nSo who is a leader? you will ask.
\n
\nIt is my deep conviction that a leader is a person who leads people toward a common goal. They are able to direct and manage what falls within their sphere of influence. A leader is not a person who simply holds some post or position and issues orders. A leader is not someone who is able to shout, raise their voice at the staff, nor someone who «fairly» devalues you and reprimands you for a mistake made. Nor can a leader be a person who lies and achieves some goal by dishonest means. Such people may temporarily occupy leadership positions, but they will not be able to hold them for long, because in reality they are not leaders. They lack the true strength that a leader possesses. A leader’s strength lies in their ability to adhere to their values, no matter the circumstances. Devotion to one’s ideas and dreams gives a leader strength that is above ordinary desires and impulses.
\n
\nWhat qualities should a leader possess?
\n
\nIt is the ability to be responsible! Responsibility is a leader’s path to success. It is the ability to set goals and move toward them despite the obstacles that arise. It is the ability to show persistence and make decisions quickly. It is the ability to communicate! A leader knows how to communicate! Communication is a tool that everyone who wants to achieve success needs. Next is the ability to organize oneself and see things through to the end. The path to success runs through the ability to finish what you have started, to carry out what you have planned, to accomplish what you set out to do—in other words, to fulfill your intentions.

\nA very important quality of a leader is love for people, love for one’s work, love for life, as well as the ability to inspire people and offer them help. True leadership requires professional competence and moral integrity. Genuine leadership cannot be built on charisma alone; above all it requires a character worthy of trust. And the qualities that make a person worthy of trust are virtue, or a combination of virtues.
