Project description
One condition is not negotiable. The work is done at a gas torch in a properly equipped studio: extraction over the bench, safety glasses that cut the sodium flare, a non-flammable work surface. This is not something anyone should repeat at home on a kitchen table, so please do not bid if you have no ventilated bench of your own. Every bead must then be annealed in a kiln on the schedule for that glass. Without annealing the internal stress simply stays inside the bead, and it cracks a month or two later, already sewn into a finished necklace — I will not accept unannealed work and will not pay for it.
Please keep the finished piece safe to wear as well: glass breaks, a sharp shard cuts the hand, and a small bead is a choking hazard for a young child. That is exactly why I ask for clean holes with no sharp rim and for each bead to be wrapped separately.
What I need:
— fifteen beads in one palette: blue, turquoise, a little gold;
— sizes from small spacers up to two large focal beads;
— a floral motif inside both focals, worked in the depth of the glass;
— an even hole of a diameter that takes my cord, fully cleaned of bead release;
— hole edges ground and fire-polished so they never chafe the cord;
— a smooth surface with no bubbles on the show side;
— kiln annealing for every bead, with the schedule stated in your report;
— a trial pair of beads for my approval before you start the main set;
— each bead wrapped separately, with a note on its size and hole diameter.
