Project description
The calculator has to cover the three door types we actually work with — sectional doors, up-and-over (tilting) doors, and sliding gates — because each one has its own base price and its own installation logic. Repair requests need a separate calculation branch as well, since replacing a spring, a damaged panel or fixing the drive is not the same math as a new installation, and mixing the two flows on one screen would only confuse people. Automation — a drive unit, remote controls, extra sensors — should be an optional add-on that changes the final price rather than a forced step, and the same applies to extras like removing an old door or finishing the rough opening.
Besides the pricing logic, the tool needs a clean interface that works well on a phone, because most visitors open the calculator standing in their own garage with a tape measure in hand. I also want the price settings — base rates, size coefficients, automation surcharge — editable later by me without touching any code, since supplier prices change. The finished calculator should be tested, connected to my current site, and delivered with a short guide on how to update the pricing table.
Requirements:
— Sectional, up-and-over and sliding garage door types with independent pricing
— Separate calculation branch for repair requests (springs, panels, tracks, drive faults)
— Opening width and height fields with validation and sensible size ranges
— Optional automation add-on (drive unit, remote, sensors) affecting the final price
— Optional extras: old door removal, opening finishing, express installation
— Instant on-screen price range plus a request-a-quote button with contact fields
— Mobile-friendly responsive layout
— Admin-editable pricing table without any code changes
