Project description

We are planning our wedding and looking for a wedding officiant (celebrant) to conduct an on-site marriage ceremony at our chosen venue. The date and approximate time are already set, but we need someone flexible enough to coordinate the exact timing with the venue and other vendors — photographer, decorator, musicians. It's important that the officiant can handle both a classic ceremony format and a more informal, personalized script that includes vows, symbolic rituals (such as a sand ceremony or a ring exchange set to music), and light humor where appropriate.

We'd like to discuss the script in advance, get help writing ceremony text based on our own story, and agree on technical support — a microphone, a speaker if needed, and a rehearsal either the day before or on the wedding day itself. Payment can be staged: part as a deposit to secure the date, the rest after the ceremony is performed. We're ready to discuss payment terms and provide full details about the venue and guest count.

Requirements for the performer:
— at least 2 years of experience conducting on-site wedding ceremonies;
— willingness to travel to the specified address on the agreed date;
— ability to develop a personalized ceremony script based on the couple's wishes;
— experience handling rings, symbolic rituals, and vows;
— own sound equipment or readiness to work with venue equipment;
— punctuality and appropriate attire for the occasion;
— availability for a rehearsal before the wedding day;
— portfolio with video or references from previous ceremonies.

How to write a response that gets picked

  • Open with the client’s task, not with a story about yourself.
  • Link one or two similar works from your portfolio.
  • Name a price and a deadline — and what exactly they include.
  • Ask one clarifying question: it starts the conversation.
