Project description

I run a small leather goods repair workshop and right now every price quote is done by hand: a client sends photos in a messenger, a master looks at the shoe type, figures out what kind of repair is needed, checks what sole material the client wants, and only then writes back with a number. It works, but it is slow, inconsistent between masters, and clients often complain that the price changed between the first estimate and the final invoice. I want a calculator embedded on my site that removes the guesswork and gives an instant, transparent estimate before anyone touches a shoe.

The tool should let a visitor pick the shoe type (dress shoes, boots, sneakers, sandals, orthopedic shoes), choose the kind of repair (full resoling, heel replacement, sole patching, stitching, zipper or lining repair), select the sole material (rubber, leather, polyurethane, Vibram-style compound) and mark how urgent the job is (standard turnaround or rush service with a surcharge). Each combination should produce a price range and an estimated completion time, and the client should be able to submit the request straight from the calculator with contact details attached, so it becomes both a pricing tool and a lead capture form.

Requirements:
— Step-by-step form: shoe type, repair type, sole material, urgency, with live price update at each step
— Price ranges configurable by an admin panel without touching code, so I can update rates myself
— Mobile-friendly layout, since most clients come from phones via messenger links
— Final screen with total estimate, estimated days, and a request button that emails me the details
— Clean, simple design matching a small craft workshop, not an oversized e-commerce widget

How to write a response that gets picked

  • Open with the client’s task, not with a story about yourself.
  • Link one or two similar works from your portfolio.
  • Name a price and a deadline — and what exactly they include.
  • Ask one clarifying question: it starts the conversation.
