Project description
We run a fleet of production equipment — presses, compressors, conveyors, pumps — and right now maintenance dates are tracked in a spreadsheet someone has to remember to update. It's already caused two missed services this year, one of which led to unplanned downtime. We need someone to design and build a proper scheduling tool that removes the guesswork.

Each machine has its own service interval, and these aren't uniform: some units are due after a fixed number of running hours, read off a counter or entered manually after each shift, while others are due on a calendar cycle regardless of how much they were actually used. The tool should calculate the next due date or hour count automatically for every unit and keep recalculating as new readings come in.

The engineer responsible for each machine needs to be notified ahead of the due date, not on the day it arrives, so parts and downtime can be planned instead of scrambled. We also want a full history log per machine — who serviced it, when, what was done, and which parts were replaced — so we can spot recurring problems and back up warranty claims.
