Project description
We run a small insurance agency that offers pet health coverage, and right now every client has to message us directly to find out which plan fits their dog, cat, or other animal. This eats up staff time and often leads to mismatched plans, since whoever answers doesn't always remember every rule about age limits, breed restrictions, or pre-existing conditions. We want a chat-based assistant that pet owners can open on our page or inside a messenger, answer a few simple questions, and instantly get a short list of plans that genuinely apply to their situation.
The bot needs to ask the basics: species, breed if it matters, current age, general health, and whether the owner mainly wants coverage for accidents, illness, or routine checkups. It should filter out plans with age caps or breed exclusions, rank what remains by price and coverage level, and explain in plain wording why each plan fits. When an animal falls outside every plan, the bot should say so honestly instead of guessing, and offer a human advisor.
We're open to any reasonable build — a decision tree, a scripted flow, or a fuller conversational engine — as long as our own staff can edit the logic later, since new plans and age brackets get added a few times a year.
What we expect:
— a clear question flow covering species, age, breed and coverage goals
— matching logic that applies exclusions correctly
— short explanations for each recommended plan
— a fallback message when nothing fits
— an easy way to update plan rules without touching code
Please share examples of similar bots you've built, plus a rough timeline.
