Project description
We run an online store on WooCommerce with around 1,200 SKUs and roughly eight thousand visitors a month, and our checkout is quietly costing us sales. Too many steps, no address help, no express payment options, and a layout that feels clumsy on phones — we watch people reach the payment stage and drop off. We want a developer to rebuild the checkout into a fast single-page flow and, at the same time, plug in a custom payment gateway that our current setup does not support out of the box.
The second half of the job is the gateway itself. We use MonoPay for Ukrainian acquiring and need a proper WooCommerce gateway plugin around it — not a hack — with a webhook handler for asynchronous status updates, a working refund flow through the API, and separate sandbox and production environments with sensible logging. Because money is involved, we expect the integration to be tested against real card scenarios (success, failure, 3DS, refund) and to emit clean analytics events so we can see where the funnel leaks after launch.
The stack is WordPress 6.x, WooCommerce 8.x and PHP 8.2, with the Stripe SDK for express payments and the MonoPay REST API for card processing. Budget is 480 USD fixed and the timeline is 21 days. In your reply, mention a WooCommerce gateway you have built before. Full requirements below.
1. Checkout Redesign
— Single-page checkout (replace the multi-step flow with one page)
— Address autocomplete via Google Places API
— Express checkout: Apple Pay and Google Pay via Stripe
— Order summary with real-time totals and a discount code field
— Guest checkout with optional account creation after purchase
— Mobile-optimized layout (Core Web Vitals: CLS below 0.1)
2. Custom Payment Gateway Plugin
— Payment provider: MonoPay (Ukrainian acquiring)
— WooCommerce gateway class implementation
— Webhook handler for async payment status updates
— Refund flow via API
— Sandbox and production environments
— Logging and error reporting
3. Post-Integration
— QA: test card scenarios (success, failure, 3DS, refund)
— GTM events: checkout_started, purchase, payment_failed
— Documentation: plugin install guide and gateway config
Tech Stack: WordPress 6.x, WooCommerce 8.x, PHP 8.2, Stripe SDK, MonoPay REST API.
Budget: 480 USD fixed. Timeline: 21 days.
