I shoot event and conference reportage: key moments, speakers, atmosphere

I am an event photographer, and reportage is where I feel most at home. My work is to be present all day without being felt, and to come back with a set of photographs that tell someone who was not there exactly what the event was like. Conferences, forums, corporate gatherings and launches all have their own rhythm, and I have learned to read it: when to stand at the back for the wide shot and when to step close for the handshake nobody staged.

On the day I cover three layers at once. The speakers, framed so the slide, the gesture and the expression all read together. The key moments, the award, the signature, the applause, caught as they happen rather than posed afterward. And the atmosphere, the details and the faces in the audience that give the whole set a sense of place. I shoot quietly, move constantly and never interrupt the program.
