Service description
I design and hand-stitch leather wine bottle carriers and totes built to protect one or two bottles in transit while looking sharp enough for a dinner party or a gift. Every order starts with a leather consultation: full-grain vegetable-tanned hide for structure and a lifelong patina, or a softer chrome-tanned option for a lighter, more flexible carry — I walk you through weight, thickness (usually 3-4mm for the shell, 1.5-2mm for linings) and color before cutting begins.

The interior is where most cheap totes fail, so I build a separate padded divider system: felt-backed or suede-lined compartments sized to standard 750ml bottles, with a center partition for two-bottle versions so glass never touches glass. Bases are double-layered and reinforced with a rigid insert so the carrier holds its shape empty or full.

Handles are saddle-stitched by hand with waxed linen thread through pre-punched holes — no rivets that can pull loose — and reinforced at the stress points with hidden leather backing plates rated for repeated full-bottle loads. I can add an optional exterior corkscrew-and-stopper pocket, a monogram or tooled initials, and a removable shoulder strap.

Edges are beveled, sanded through several grits, and burnished with beeswax until smooth and sealed against moisture — no raw or fraying edges anywhere. Hardware is solid brass or nickel, hand-set.

Turnaround is typically 7-10 business days depending on tooling detail; rush options are available. I share progress photos at cutting, stitching, and finishing stages so you can request adjustments before the piece is sealed. Message me with bottle count, preferred leather color, and any personalization for a firm quote.
