About the service
A blanket with a baby's embroidered name transforms from an ordinary item into a gift that is treasured for years. I do machine embroidery on baby textiles — blankets, burp cloths, swaddles and discharge blankets — and I know exactly how to make the embroidery look beautiful while remaining soft and safe for a newborn's skin.
What's included in the order: a name or monogram in your choice of font (script, print, childish with rounded letters), or a small motif — a bunny, cloud, star, initials in a wreath, birth date or a short inscription like "Our little sunshine". You can combine text with an icon to get a matching set of blanket plus burp cloth in a unified style. Before starting work, I always send a digital mockup for approval.
For baby items, threads and stitch density matter more than anywhere else. I use hypoallergenic viscose or polyester threads that don't fade when washed, and keep stitch density low on thin muslin and flannel so the fabric doesn't pucker and doesn't become stiff under the baby's chin. I select the backing to match the material: tearaway for cotton, stable fusible interfacing for jersey, so the back stays smooth even for the most sensitive skin.
You can send your own blanket, burp cloth or set of swaddles, or I can select a soft, pre-washed blank in your desired color and composition. The turnaround time is usually five to eight business days for one item, a bit longer for a set of four to six pieces; I always confirm the exact date in advance so you have time before the baby shower or delivery date.
My portfolio includes dozens of completed works: minimalist single initials, appliqués with animals, full birth announcements with name, date and birth weight. I can show you large photos of recent work so you can evaluate stitch quality before ordering.
To place an order, write to me the type of item, quantity, desired colors and text or pattern. I'll send back font options and thread color, exact price and timeline — work on the mockup starts only after your approval.
