About the service
I offer a complete wooden furniture restoration service — tables, chests, chairs, cabinets and other solid wood items that have lost their original appearance. Over time, the finish cracks, becomes cloudy and gets scratched, and I bring the wood back to life instead of letting good pieces end up in a landfill. I start by removing the old varnish, enamel or paint down to clean wood using a method suitable for the specific piece — chemical or mechanical — then sand the surface progressively with increasingly fine abrasive until it becomes even and smooth, with no traces of the previous finish in the pores and joints.
After cleaning the wood, I inspect the piece for dents, chips, loose joints and peeling veneer and eliminate any defects found before applying stain — because a flaw sealed under new finish will remain forever. Then I apply stain in the chosen shade: you can repeat the original tone, make the color deeper or, conversely, lighter for a more modern look — and over it I apply durable protective varnish that protects the wood from moisture, heat and everyday wear. Each layer is applied by hand and fully dries before the next stage, so the final finish is even, deep in color and lasts long, rather than looking hastily done.
What's included in the service:
— Inspection of the piece (on-site or in the workshop) and selection of stain shade
— Complete removal of old finish down to clean wood
— Sanding and minor structural repairs (joints, dents, veneer)
— Application of selected stain and protective varnish
— Final polishing and quality check before delivery
