About the service
I work as a guitar service specialist and instead of asking you to take your instrument across the city to a workshop, I come to you wherever it is convenient. Over the years of practice, I have worked on budget acoustics from mass-market stores and vintage electric guitars that have not seen proper maintenance in years, and almost always string buzz on the frets, slipping tuning, and uncomfortable string action are fixed in a single visit of one or two hours, right in your kitchen or room.
When I arrive, I first carefully listen to how the guitar sounds and plays now, and clarify what exactly bothers you, and only then check the neck relief, bridge and saddle height, fret condition, and electronics performance. I make all adjustments by measurements, not by eye: feeler gauges, a neck straightness template, and a stroboscopic tuner give repeatable results, and if desired I can show you the numbers before and after. I always have sets of strings in popular gauges, consumables for typical repairs, and a small vacuum cleaner with me so that the body and case remain clean after work.
The service works equally well for one guitar that suddenly developed buzz on the upper frets, and for several instruments at once if you teach music or run a home studio with multiple guitars. I adjust to evening and weekend time and explain as I work what and why I am doing, so that after my visit you understand your instrument better rather than just getting it back in working condition.
What is included in the service:
— Full diagnostics and neck relief check
— Elimination of fret buzz and string action adjustment
— String replacement with new ones of the desired gauge
— Precise intonation adjustment on the bridge
— Basic electronics and hardware check
