About the service
I am a stonemason and landscape specialist, specializing in laying garden and residential pathways made of natural stone and paving tiles. I take the entire project upon myself — from discussing what type of pathway you want to the final sand infill in the joints of the finished surface. Over the years of work, I have laid flagstone, split stone, clinker and concrete paving stones and know well how each material behaves on different soils, especially after a frosty winter or prolonged rain — this affects the result much more than it seems at first glance.
Any pathway starts with a proper foundation, because a surface that looks beautiful on the first day but settles or heaves after a season is money wasted. I excavate a trench to the required depth, layer by layer tamp down a gravel bed and install a border restraint before laying the first stone, so the finished surface remains level for many years. I separately think through the curves, boundaries and transitions so that the pathway fits organically into the lawn, flower beds and porch, rather than looking like a foreign element.
I keep the customer informed at all stages, arrive on the agreed days and carefully clean up the site after the work is completed. If the material is already chosen — I work with yours, if not — I'll suggest an option within budget and the style of your house.
What is included in the service:
— Site inspection, measurements and design consultation
— Soil excavation and arrangement of a tamped gravel base
— Installation of border restraint for durability
— Laying stone or paving stones with proper joint grouting
— Final leveling, joint infill and site cleanup
