About the service
I am a potter and work in my own studio: I throw each plate, bowl and mug on the wheel myself, from chamotte clay that calmly withstands the oven, microwave and dishwasher. If you were looking for a tableware set that doesn't look like a stamped product from a store, — this is exactly what I do: I assemble a set according to your colors, textures and number of pieces, rather than select from a ready-made catalog.
We start with a short conversation about what the tableware set is for: everyday family dinners, entertaining guests or a gift for a loved one whose kitchen you know well. I'll clarify which glaze is closer to you — matte or glossy, calm earthy tones or bright accents, one color or a combination of two, — and I'll send a small palette for approval before I start working with the clay. I mold each piece by hand, so there won't be perfect uniformity between the plates — that's the point of handmade work as opposed to factory stamping, and it's the first thing guests notice at the table.
Before firing the complete set, I always test the glaze on sample pieces to make sure the approved color is exactly the color you'll receive, not a surprise after the kiln. The timeline depends on the size of the tableware set and the number of glazing stages — I'll give you the actual date as soon as we finalize the design. What's included in the order:
— Plates, bowls and mugs hand-formed in the quantity you need
— Individual glaze palette tested on samples before final firing of the entire set
— Food-safe chamotte material, resistant to dishwashers and microwaves
— Careful packaging for delivery without damage
— One round of corrections based on glaze samples before firing the complete set
