About the service
I am a woodworker and hand-carve kitchen utensils — spoons, spatulas, cooking spatulas — specifically for those who want to give something more heartfelt than a store-bought set. Each piece starts with a solid piece of hardwood and is processed only with hand tools, without a lathe or CNC, so I never end up with two identical sets.
When ordering a set, we choose the type of wood, shape, and overall character of the collection together, so the gift turns out to be truly personal, not generic. I usually work with cherry, walnut, maple, and olive wood, coating the pieces with food-grade oil, which highlights the wood grain and protects the utensils for years of daily use. If desired, I can do engraving of initials, a date, or a short phrase — this is especially often ordered for housewarming or weddings.
I have been doing carving for several years and have sent sets to people who wanted to delight friends moving to a new apartment, as well as to those who were simply updating the utensils in their kitchen. The entire process is transparent: before final finishing, I send a photo of the intermediate result, so there will be no surprises when you receive it.
What is included in the order:
— A custom set of 4-6 hand-carved items (spoons, spatulas, serving spatula — your choice)
— Consultation on wood type and shape before starting work
— Food-grade oil coating
— Engraving of initials, name, or short inscription if desired
— Photo report at all stages of carving
— Neat packaging, ready for gifting
