About the service
I am a carpenter and have been hand-cutting wooden toys for many years, and one of my favorite projects is name puzzles for babies. Each letter of your child's name becomes a separate puzzle piece that I cut out, process, and sand by hand from solid wood — birch, maple, or oak — so the gift turns out to be truly one of a kind.
The work begins with a sketch: I think through the placement of letters, their shape and size, so the puzzle is convenient to assemble even for the tiniest hands. Then each piece is cut with a jigsaw, sanded until smooth, and coated with safe food-grade oil without odor and toxic additives — no need to worry if the baby decides to try a letter on their teeth. If desired, I add tinting, contrasting colors, or small figurines — a star, a little animal, a heart — to match the holiday theme.
Such puzzles often become a favorite toy for many years — parents later write that the child continues to assemble their name even at three or four years old. I work individually: you send me the name, wishes for color and style, and everything else is my responsibility, from sketch to final packaging.
