About the service
I am a practicing piano tuner with more than a decade of experience working with pianos and grand pianos in apartments, homes, music schools and concert venues. I come to you with my complete set of tuning tools — tuning forks, keys, wedges and felt dampers, so you won't need to transport your fragile instrument anywhere: I perform all work on site, carefully and with minimal noise, treating your furniture and floors with care.
Each instrument ages differently depending on room humidity, temperature and playing intensity, so before tuning I always perform complete diagnostics: checking pitch stability, hammer condition, pedal mechanism operation and soundboard. Only after this do I proceed directly to tuning — I use equal temperament tuning, relying on my ear and an electronic tuner for precision. If the instrument hasn't been tuned in a long time and the pitch has dropped significantly, I use a two-pass technique to raise the pitch to the standard 440 Hz to avoid the risk of string breakage.
In addition to tuning, I can perform light mechanical regulation and sound voicing upon request, so the instrument not only holds its pitch but sounds even and consistent across the entire keyboard range. My goal is to make playing the instrument comfortable, with warm and balanced sound.
What is included in the service:
— Complete diagnostics of strings, tuning pegs, hammers and pedals on site
— Precise tuning to concert pitch of 440 Hz or to your reference standard
— Two-pass pitch raising for long-untuned instruments
— Basic mechanical regulation and light sound voicing
— Written recommendations for instrument care after the visit
