About the service
I'll clean your chimney, flue and remove soot and creosote from your fireplace or sauna stove before the heating season starts. I've worked with brick, metal and modular chimneys for many years and know exactly where buildup accumulates, where blockages most often occur and why draft suddenly disappears. Before beginning work I always inspect the entire system and explain what I see and why to the homeowner, so you make the decision about next steps, not me alone.
During my visit I clean the chimney along its full length, check the damper and chimney cap for damage, inspect the inner flue surface for cracks, look for signs of bird or rodent nests and water damage indicators that become expensive repairs over time. I use professional brushes, rods and a construction vacuum with good filtration, so soot and dust don't spread around the room, and I cover furniture and floors with protective film throughout the work. If I find something more serious than a standard blockage, I'll tell you honestly and suggest what to do next rather than pushing unnecessary services.
