I build a thesis printing & binding cost calculator

I build cost calculators for printing and binding thesis and coursework papers, made for copy-shop websites located near universities. A student opens the page, picks the page count, binding type, and turnaround time in a few clicks, and immediately sees the final price without calling or emailing a manager. That takes pressure off copy-shop staff during the defense season, when order queues stretch for weeks.

The calculation covers page count, binding choice — soft stapled, thermal binding, or a hard cover with foil stamping — color or black-and-white printing counted per page or by block, and turnaround speed: standard order, same-day, or a rush job within an hour. The calculator logic handles non-linear pricing: discounts kick in as page count or copies grow, while rush orders carry a markup the site owner can adjust without touching code.

I build the calculator with plain HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, skipping heavy frameworks so the page loads fast and behaves the same on a student's phone and on an old computer at the university front desk. Every pricing rule lives in a separate configuration file the business owner edits through a clear panel — no code changes needed when paper or binding material prices shift.
