I Build Cost Calculators for Custom Wrought-Iron Fences, Gates & Railings

I design and build interactive cost calculators for blacksmiths and metalwork studios that sell custom fences, gates, and staircase railings through their own website. Instead of making every visitor call or write in just to get a rough number, my calculator lets them pick a product type, enter the length or area, choose how intricate the forged pattern should be, and select the metal grade — the estimated price updates on screen instantly, before a single message is sent.

Under the hood I set up the pricing logic together with the workshop owner: base rate per running meter or square meter, multipliers for pattern density (simple bars versus dense floral scrollwork), surcharges for stainless steel or bronze elements versus plain steel, additional cost for powder coating or forged decorative finials, and delivery or installation fees by distance. The result is a tool that feels tailored to that specific workshop rather than a generic estimator, and it can sit directly on an existing site page or open as a lightweight widget.

What I typically configure inside one calculator:
— product category — fence sections, entrance or driveway gates, stair and balcony railings
— input for length in meters or area in square meters, with automatic recalculation
— complexity tiers for the forged pattern, from minimalist to ornamental
— metal and finish options with their own price coefficients
— an optional lead-capture step so the estimate is sent along with contact details

I hand over clean, documented code plus a short admin panel so the workshop can update base prices themselves whenever material costs change, without waiting on me for every small adjustment.
