I configure directory structure, naming conventions, and variables so a newcomer reads the code without a tour, then hook it all to CI: a merge request runs a plan, shows the exact diff, and applies only what you confirmed. Secrets don't sit in code, state is protected, and divergence between what's written and what's running is caught early, not during a crisis. If you already have a tangle of manual resources, I carefully import them into state without downtime.
