About the service
I develop system software in Hare — a small statically typed language with manual memory management and intentionally modest runtime. If you need a compact console utility, file or log processor, parser, or low-level tool that starts instantly and weighs almost nothing, this is exactly my area. I handle the task end-to-end: discuss requirements, sketch module structure, implement, and deliver readable source code with comments. Since Hare gives explicit control over memory allocation, I pay careful attention to ownership and object lifetime. Every allocation has a paired deallocation, buffers are sized for the specific task, and defer keeps cleanup local and predictable. I test on real data, run the program under memory checking if needed, and describe how the tool behaves in edge cases. Typical results are console utilities in a single binary, small daemons, parsers of byte streams, bridges between existing systems, and thin wrappers over C libraries through Hare's foreign interface. Correctness matters first, then speed, then user convenience. You get source code, a short README, build instructions, and a breakdown of decisions made so your team can develop the code further. I have experience with C and Unix tools behind me, so working close to the hardware is natural for me. Describe your task and constraints—I'll propose a minimal, reliable solution.
