About the service
I'm a Delphi and Object Pascal developer specializing in native desktop applications for Windows. For over ten years I've written programs on VCL for the desktop, and when I need a common interface across multiple platforms — I use FireMonkey. My main work lies where business logic meets real interface: forms, tables, reports, printing and data entry that people use every day. If you have an idea for a utility, an internal tool or a full accounting program, I'll take it from rough specification to a signed and installable executable file.
Much of my work is keeping old systems alive. Many companies still depend on programs written in Delphi 7 or early Unicode versions, and the authors are long gone. I carefully read such code, describe how it actually works, then migrate it to a current compiler, replace dead third-party components and eliminate Unicode, high DPI and Windows 10 and 11 compatibility issues. I approach legacy first as an archaeologist and only then as an engineer — I don't rewrite anything blindly.
Databases are familiar territory for me. I connect Delphi to Firebird, PostgreSQL, MS SQL and SQLite through FireDAC, design a data layer and assemble search, filtering and reporting that the back office expects. I watch for careful thread handling so the interface doesn't hang, for clear error handling and for installers that even a non-technical user can run.
— Desktop application development on VCL and FireMonkey
— Migration from Delphi 7 and earlier to modern versions
— Database applications via FireDAC (Firebird, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, SQLite)
— Reports, printing and interfaces with heavy tables
— Third-party component replacement and dependency cleanup
— Debugging, refactoring and code optimization in Pascal
— Windows installers and code signing setup
