Container Orchestration with HashiCorp Nomad

Ivan

Linux Admin & DevOps
Service description
I set up and run workload orchestration on HashiCorp Nomad, so your containers, batch jobs, and plain binaries are scheduled, placed, and kept alive without the operational weight of a full Kubernetes platform. I build the cluster from scratch or fit Nomad into what you already have: I configure servers and clients, tune bin-packing so your nodes are used densely instead of sitting idle, and wire up rolling updates with health checks and automatic rollback so a bad release never takes production down. If you have outgrown a single server but a Kubernetes control plane feels like overkill, this is the middle path I recommend.

My work usually pairs Nomad with Consul for service discovery and health checking, and with Vault for secrets, so applications receive credentials at runtime instead of baking them into images. I write clean, reusable job specifications, set up namespaces and quotas for several teams, and add constraints and affinities so workloads land exactly where they should. Where it helps, I connect a CI pipeline that plans and deploys jobs automatically on every merge.

You get a documented, reproducible setup and a short handover session, so your team can operate the system confidently on its own. Typical tasks I take on:

— Cluster install, upgrade, and hardening
— Rolling and canary deployments with automatic rollback
— Consul service discovery and Vault secrets integration
— CI/CD pipelines for job deployment
