Work description
A gantry plasma cutting machine with a cutting area of 1.5x3 meters, with CNC.
Model name - "Hermes M-10".
I developed the machine from "scratch", all the way to preparing the design and process documentation for production, including defining the machine concept, selecting materials and assembly technology, developing the mechanical and electronic parts, and identifying component suppliers.
An electrical schematic diagram was also developed.
The machine is fully developed and built in metal.
On the X axis - round rails.
On the Y axis - a profile rail.
On the Z axis - cylindrical guides.
Toothed polyurethane belts with steel cord are used on the X and Y axes, which provides high accuracy and smooth motion; on the Z axis - a toothed pair.
Stepper drives everywhere.
