Project description
We already run our tool as a web service, but a growing share of our team lives in it all day long and keeps asking for a real desktop application they can install once and open with a single click. We need a cross-platform build on Electron that ships as a proper installer for Windows, macOS and Linux, launches offline, remembers its window state and behaves like a native program rather than a browser tab that someone might close by accident. The look should be clean and modern, with a light and dark theme, keyboard shortcuts for the actions people repeat dozens of times a day, and a layout that stays comfortable on both a small laptop and a large external monitor.
Under the hood the app has to keep working when the network drops. That means a local database (SQLite or an equivalent embedded store) that holds the user's documents and settings, reliable file handling for importing and exporting data, and background sync back to our existing API once the connection returns. We also need system-tray integration so the app can sit quietly in the background, show unread counts and pop notifications, plus a proper auto-update channel so we can push fixes without asking anyone to reinstall by hand. Everything should be signed and packaged the way each platform expects.
Please treat this as a real product, not a quick web wrapper. We care about start-up speed, memory footprint and a smooth first-run experience. Before you bid, tell us which parts of our current web front-end can be reused and where you would build native pieces from scratch.
