Project description
A series of articles under the conditional name “The Face of the City” is planned. In it, we want to uncover modern urban problems in the largest cities of Ukraine and try to find solutions to them.
In order to cover the issue from different sides and saddle the material as objective and interesting as possible, a balance of opinions should be observed.
Respondents:
Independent Designer/Architect
Opinion of the official/responsible person who may influence the view of the city (chief architect of the city, local deputy of the relevant committee, etc.)
Opinion of the advertiser or advertising agency (if it is outdoor advertising), the owner of the MAF (if it is stalls in the center), etc., transitions (I don’t know, Ukravtodor?).
The opinion of citizens who see total advertising, stalls, etc. (It can also be an independent designer.)
Important: for each respondent, it is necessary to specify the name, position, title, city / place of residence.
What concerns the problems:
An abundance of visual debris;
MAFs in the city centre;
Lack of pedestrian streets;
Overlying with pedestrian crossings; (inconvenience / incorrect design / location)
Historic buildings in need of reconstruction and not receiving it
Other issues.
Buildings that do not correspond to the appearance and ensemble of neighboring buildings (something glass in the historical center as an example)
Important: Explain why this is a problem. Why do people develop a habit of indifference to these problems? We offer examples of solutions in our or European cities. Explaining what could be different could be better. Give good examples of social spaces. Emphasize that in developed countries, these problems are mostly solved or solved.
5 articles: Kharkov, Kiev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk, Lviv.
The following requirements are imposed on each article:
Volume: 6,000 to 10,000. Zbp
Illustrations: mandatory (15-20). Examples of disfigured, facades, outdoor advertising, etc. Positive examples of the above problems.
All illustrations must be signed:
Town
The signature of the illustration
Author
Subheadings are required. The text should be structured.
Structure of the article:
Name of name
Subtitle (max). - 130 characters)
Cities are beautiful, but what they do to them is terrible.
Main part: (Presentation of the problem). Discussion. Examples and solutions.) description of the situation (analytics with figures and data are welcome).
Opinions (3-4 respondents).
Is there such a problem abroad? How was it solved? Proposal of solutions.
Conclusion.
