Nim Systems Developer — Fast CLI Tools & Backends
Service description
I write production software in Nim, the statically typed compiled language with Python-flavored syntax. My focus is turning slow or fragile scripts into fast, self-contained binaries that just run. If you have a Python or Bash tool that eats CPU or memory, I rebuild it in Nim and hand you an executable with no runtime dependencies. Typical work includes command-line utilities with argument parsing, subcommands, colored output and shell completion; HTTP and TCP backends that stay under a millisecond per request; and log or data pipelines that stream gigabytes without stalling. I lean on Nim's strengths: zero-overhead C interop so I can wrap existing C or C++ libraries and expose them cleanly, and its macro system for compile-time code generation that removes boilerplate instead of adding it. I care about correctness, so I set up unit tests, deterministic builds, and cross-compilation for Linux, macOS and Windows from one machine. Deliverables come as documented source, a reproducible build script, and the compiled binary for your target platform. Over the past years I have shipped parsers, network daemons, embedded glue layers between Nim and native SDKs, and asynchronous services using async await. Tell me the problem, the input format, and the throughput you need, and I will send back a small prototype before committing to the full scope. I explain design tradeoffs in plain language and keep the code readable for whoever maintains it next.
