Project description:
Hello, there. Remote work for a programmer. It is required to write a program executed in the LabView development environment for my bachelor’s work. This is a program that manages a test bench for thermomechanical verification of mechatronic components (and not only).
Control is carried out using an I/O controller with analog and digital inputs, as well as a separate port for the thermocouple.
For all the following devices and a general sample diagram with the ports designated for connection, I attached hotel documents.
Through analog inputs, the controller receives information from the following devices:
-Transducer of strain gauge signals (with a strain gauge connected to it)
- Laser rangefinder.
- Voltage from the parallel sample is taken into account
It is possible that the separate input for the thermocouple is also analog. If you do not find information in the documentation, I will ask the manufacturer for information.
Through digital outputs, the controller controls the following devices:
- Controller for stepping motor (3 exits) with a stepping motor connected to it
- Rele.
The I/O controller itself is connected via a USB port to the computer from which it is controlled.

The task of the measuring stand: inside the climate chamber is a sample. The motor outside the chamber stretches/compresses the sample. First, the force gradually increases to a given value, then keeps a certain time unchanged, then gradually decreases and returns to the original value. At the same time, from the very beginning of the test to the end, the relay is closed and measured: the length of stretching / compression using a laser rangefinder, the electrical voltage on the sample, the tensile / compressive force using a strainometer, the temperature inside the chamber using a thermocouple.

Using a convenient interface, the user must set the test parameters, namely: compression / stretching toggle for the motor (in which direction it will move), the force with which the motor compresses / stretches the sample (depends on the voltage applied to it), the duration of the initial stretch (until the force reaches a predetermined value), the duration of retention with a given force, the duration of the force return phase to the original value.
The following measured parameters should be displayed on the screen in the form of a diagram, and also stored in a tabular form in a separate Excel file: relative elongation / shortening of the sample, temperature inside the chamber in °C, resistance of the sample (solved from the voltage on it), the force with which the motor acts on the sample (from the strain gauge). All these parameters are displayed on one graph depending on time.

The stretch varies greatly depending on the sample, but not more than 50 mm (rangefinder limit).

Due to the specifics of the manufacturer of the LabJack controller, you need to install additional software to work with LabView. The software is supported by National Instruments.
I don’t know much about whether there will be a significant difference, but you can probably run a program in a regular LabView. I just need to know how to implement this software on my installation.

Due to the specifics of my place of residence, personal adjustment and verification is impossible. The components for the “live” check will come to me during this week, so the deadline is 1-2 weeks maximum. During the setup of the test stand, it may be necessary to make some changes, so I would like to stay in touch after the program, for up to a month. It is possible to discuss it by phone/video, ready for detailed cooperation, as the project is complex, there are many details and processes.
