Abkhazia amazed me with its extraordinary air, filled with the aromas of pine needles, eucalyptus, and something else inimitably southern! They say that surgeries could be performed in the Abkhazian forests, the air there is so sterile. The sea is clean and the coastline, unlike the Russian one, is half-empty. The local people are quite friendly and welcoming. Between trips to the market and to the sea, we managed to take a jeep ride into the mountains with local guides, even did some shooting at little cans with assault rifles there, and went to Lake Ritsa — believe me, it's a wondrous place! This lake is more than 1,000 years old. Its calm, majestic beauty is striking! We looked at it from every side, and picturesque vistas always opened up before us. The Abkhazians have a legend: a girl named Ritsa lived in the forest with her brothers, and one day a young robber dishonored her. The girl, unable to survive the shame, threw herself into the lake, while her brothers, out of grief, turned into the three mountains surrounding it. In general, Abkhazia has stunning nature! We were in Abkhazia for three days, but we rested as if we had lived there for a week! I think I'll visit this wonderful land again more than once!
