Work description:
Schefflera is the largest genus of plants belonging to the Araliaceae family, which includes around two hundred species of low trees and shrubs. In nature it is found in the tropical zones of Australia, Southeast Asia, and the islands of the Pacific Ocean. But out of all the variety of species of this genus, only a few are grown as decorative plants in indoor conditions. Garden forms with variegated-golden or white leaves have become the most popular. I think many of you have heard something about this plant, but few know that it is a close relative of ginseng. Quite often, while trying to find information about this plant, we come across its incorrect name - Sheflera.
Schefflera is an evergreen, unpretentious, and beautiful plant with small leaves; they look very much like palms with fingers splayed in different directions, turned toward the sun. It reaches up to 2.5 meters in home conditions and grows considerably taller in its natural environment. In England this plant was given the nickname "umbrella tree" because the leaves on the stalk radiate from a single point, much like the spokes of an umbrella. There are several varieties of schefflera that differ in coloring, size, and leaf structure. Variegated varieties with stripes along the leaf edges and yellow or white spots on them are very attractive. Unfortunately, at home you will not see this plant bloom; its flowering is only possible in nature, during which small yellow-greenish flowers appear on it.
Schefflera is a so-called relaxer plant; it is able to absorb negative energy from the surrounding space like a sponge.
