On October 7, 2011, the walls of Moscow Special Boarding School No. 81 were once again filled with laughter and children's smiles. Once again, students from the Moscow State University of Printing Arts named after Ivan Fedorov came to visit the children.
"Give moments of happiness!" - that is the name of the charity event that the university's activists have been running for the second year.
"Two guys, Tevriz and Zhenya, came up to me and said they wanted to do something useful: to help some children's home or shelter. They had the idea of organizing various performances or concerts, helping children with their homework," says Olga Gorlova, director of the Center for Educational and Cultural Work, "and we didn't just try - we simply went ahead and did it."
This "visit" turned out to be unusual both for the pupils themselves and for our students. This time the entire event was dedicated to just one of our university's creative groups - the capoeira dance studio, led by Kosta Shterev, a graduate of the Faculty of Printmedia Technologies. The thing is, last academic year Kosta graduated from the university and is now planning to return to his homeland - Bulgaria. The guys decided to hold the group's "farewell" performance specifically for the boarding school's pupils.
The joy on their faces, the music, the laughter, and the complex acrobatic tricks that our students had only just taught the children - all of this will be long remembered by the boarding school's pupils, their teachers, and everyone who was at the celebration that day. According to Raisa Shcherbakova, an educator and speech therapist at the boarding school, such activities not only lift the children's spirits but also encourage them to continue playing sports: "The children's eyes were simply glued to every participant who performed these exercises. They understand how difficult it is to do, how hard it is. And they still tried to repeat it. You gave us an unforgettable day! Come visit us more often!"
The students' next visit to the boarding school will not be long in coming. Soon the guys from the Moscow State University of Printing Arts named after Ivan Fedorov plan to visit the pupils with a new program.
Let's give moments of happiness together! The University of Printing is open to your suggestions and initiatives. If you care about the fate of the boarding school's children, if you want to see smiles on the children's faces a little more often - join our team! After all, giving even an hour of your time to a child is not so hard. And for them, it is very important.
