The latest new fifth supercar to be released received the name Black Bess. This time the supercar was named after the famous Bugatti Type 18 of 1912-1914, which was produced from 1912 to 1914 and was considered exclusive. Their total number was seven. One of their owners was the pilot Roland Garros, who was the first to fly across the Mediterranean Sea. Ettore Bugatti himself competed in races in this sports car, powerful for its time.
Cars from the "Les Legendes de Bugatti" series sell quite well. Already twelve "lucky ones" have become owners of such a supercar. The specifications of the new Veyron are much higher than those of the previous Type 18. In 1912 the supercar was equipped with a 4-cylinder engine with a displacement of 5 liters, running on gasoline, whose power did not exceed 100 hp and which reached a speed of 160 km/h. The new release of this supercar from the same series is among the fastest of production cars in the world! With the help of an 8-liter engine, with a power of 1200 hp, it reaches a hundred in just about 2.6 seconds and can accelerate to 408 km/h.
The first version of the "Bugatti Legends" series is dedicated to Jean-Pierre Wimille, who won the "24 Hours of Le Mans" marathon twice (in 1937 and 1939). The next supercar was created in honor of Jean Bugatti. The third Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse was dedicated to Meo Costantini, who was a two-time champion of the Targa Florio racing series. The fourth person in whose honor the next car was named was Rembrandt Bugatti, the famous sculptor of the 20th century and brother of the founder of Bugatti.
Outwardly, the new supercar looks the same as the previous cars from this series: black in color with several elements decorated in gold. The material for the interior is beige and brown leather, the steering wheel is red, and there are also drawings depicted in the cabin, one of which shows the previous supercar Type 18, all drawings being handmade. There will be three such cars in total, the price of each being 2 million 150 thousand euros.
This car was put on display in April during an exhibition in the city of Beijing. During this exhibition the Bugatti Type 18 and the Bugatti Veyron Black Bess were placed side by side, thereby showing what the possibilities of automaking were a hundred years ago and what they are at present. The fifth "Legend" will be sold out in the shortest possible time, like all the rest, and there is no doubt about this.
