You need to update the site engine from CMS Joomla from version 2.5 to version 3.4 and the Virtuemart online store engine from version 2.6 to version 3.
It is important to keep all CNC (URL), layout (site template), canonical URL, products, K2 articles. Check out the work of Checkout, Cart.
There is a Joomla 2.5 template that we started with and the same template for Joomla 3.x (you can try to make a 3-way merge, it will not be easy).
